Warren and Virginia Warbrick (Toi Warbrick)

Warren and Virginia Warbrick received a Visual Arts grant in 2015 to assist them in creating TAHI80/Antipodeans, a project exploring the artistic and cultural connections between Palmerston North and Spain.

With the assistance of the Earle Creativity and Development Trust, they were able to commission Ciento Ochenta by New Zealand composer, Pepe Becker. This work combined early music with New Zealand poetry by Apirana Taylor and Leonel Alvarado, new art music and traditional Māori instrumentation.

During their experimentation phase they toured TAHI80 to regional town halls in the Manawatū and Rangitīkei districts. Their final iteration, Antipodeans, was presented at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in March 2017 and in August 2017 they travel to San Martin de Valdeiglesias to bring their project full circle.
